Abandoned And Locked In Cramped cages, Giant Dog Angelica and her friend Spud watched their lives slip away for six long years

For six years, Angelica and Spud sat in cramped cages in a Virginia home, watching their lives ebb away.  In the cramped space, Angelica, a short-haired Saint Bernard, struggled to stand or turn around, while Spud, a smaller terrier mix, spun anxiously in small circles.  Then came the rescue. To be precise, Rescue & RemEMBER. “A bridge for Shelter dogs to walk over, then end up in their fur-ever home,” says the Virginia-based organization.

After that, they get back together. They had no one else for those six years, and they couldn’t even touch from their separate prisons. Even if it’s just the kitchen of the house they were trapped in, they play and run, scrambling for each other and taking in what must feel like a wide-open new world. Rescue & RemEMBER, in collaboration with Knine Rescue, Inc., set out to find them forever homes right away. Spud was the first to be adopted, and he was adopted by a family who immediately accepted him as one of their own. Spud now relishes the comfort of cuddles with his new family.
